Simply recognizing poor posture and attempting to correct it for the moment will last for only one moment. What’s needed is the balance of length and strength in all complementary pairs of muscles, coupled with muscular endurance. This will help to maintain good static and dynamic posture over all 18 holes, and indeed, throughout your entire life.

All-American Golf Pilates Specialists evaluate the golfer’s posture and functional movement patterns to determine where the muscle imbalances exist. The instructor then customizes a golf specific Pilates workout session to restore length, strength, and endurance to the postural musculature.

Additionally, the instructor watches for and corrects (enhancing the mind-body connection) misalignments during the movement patterns. This deepens the neurological groove from the mind to the muscles used.

The deeper the groove along the proper nero-muscular pathway (muscle memory), the better the movement pattern. The result is the physical ability to be the best you can be!

Good postural alignment is dependent upon a balance of the muscles surrounding the spine to maintain spinal stability. The spine is the axis of rotation. If it is held in good dynamic alignment by well-balanced muscles, the rotation is optimal. If the postural alignment is poor, the rotational energy is expended in all directions which results in dissipation of energy through a constantly changing axis of rotation. When the axis of rotation changes during a golf swing, the arc of the club head is compromised and your lose control of your stabilizers. Then the big muscles start to fire out of sequence and the kinetic chain begins to break. more.
